Heading into Kerrville: A Morning Like No Other

Last weekend, six of our standout Texas Mayhem Basketball players started with a Saturday morning workout before hitting the road. That evening, we made our way to Kerrville, Texas, settling in with excitement for the Schreiner University Women’s Basketball Prospect Camp scheduled for Sunday.

Showcase Meets Connection

On Sunday, our Texas Mayhem Basketball athletes put their skills on display under watchful eyes. Not only did they perform drills and scrimmages with confidence, but they also got to meet Coach Kendra Foreman, Schreiner’s Head Women’s Basketball Coach. A seasoned player and coach with Division III experience and NCAA tournament exposure, Coach Foreman gave each girl invaluable feedback and encouragement.

A highlight off the court was when our girls joined Schreiner players for a meal at Whataburger. Sharing food, laughs, and stories with the Mountaineers gave our team a taste of the program’s culture and camaraderie.

A Positive Return

We wrapped up Sunday on a high note, our players beaming from positive interactions and fresh motivation. When we rolled back into town that night, the energy was undeniable, tired but consistently cheerful and inspired.

Located in Kerrville, Texas, Schreiner University is a private Presbyterian institution with roughly 1,300 students. Their athletic teams, known as the Mountaineers, compete in NCAA Division III, and next year will transition into the American Southwest Conference (ASC).

The university recently revived its long-dormant football program, scheduled to kick off competition in 2026 with Coach Keith Allen at the helm. Known for his successful stints at Southwest Baptist University and high school programs in Florida and Texas, Coach Allen brings competence and a legacy of winning to the Hill Country.

Meanwhile, Coach Kendra Foreman continues to build the Women’s Basketball program with her collegiate playing background and multi-level coaching experience. She’s made Schreiner’s prospect camps an influential destination for motivated high school athletes.
